Add vendor pricing when adding products in project view

We often add new products to our library when we are in a design board. It's the natural way for us to work, finding products from our various suppliers and adding as we go. But when we do this the vendor price doesn't save. Can this be updated so if a product is added here the pricing is saved. I understand sometimes the client price changes by project but the vendor price on an item would be standard 99% of the time.
