Allow Client Portal Login Without Requiring a Task or Questionnaire

It would be really helpful if we could invite clients to create their portal login at the beginning of the onboarding process, without having to send them a task first.

Right now the “Client Login Page” link only works if the client has already created credentials. If they haven’t interacted with anything in the portal yet, they can’t actually create a login from that page. This ends up confusing clients because they’re sent to a login screen but have never been given the chance to set up their account.

In many cases, designers want clients to access their portal early so they can view documents, reports, or other shared materials. Currently the only way to trigger account creation is by sending a task like a questionnaire, which forces us to send something that may not actually belong in the workflow at that moment.

It would be much better if we could simply invite a client to create their portal login as part of onboarding.

It would also be great to have more control over what appears in the portal when the client account is created. For example, I don’t always want a questionnaire automatically attached. Sometimes I want to choose which questionnaire to send and when, depending on the project.

Having the ability to:

• invite a client to create their portal login directly

• allow first-time users to create credentials from the login page

• control what content appears in the portal during onboarding

would make the client experience much smoother and give designers more flexibility in how we structure onboarding.

This would remove the need for workaround tasks and make the client portal much easier for both designers and clients to use.
