Creating glass panels in 3D

It would be great if using the plane tool in 3D allows you to create custom glass panes (like a shower in a bathroom). And being able to thicken that plane. Right now I’m using the plane in a light gray model color - that could work if maybe being able to change its opacity? If it’s clear, would be cool if you could customize the color. I’ve done a bathroom with a blue plexiglass shower wall before.
