Marking items as ordered

When I mark an item as ordered, it would be great to see the current date populated, so I don’t have to go and as enter the current date. I would also love to see when a PO is marked “Ordered” that the items on that order are automatically entered as “Ordered,” so I don’t have to mark each individual item as being ordered after the fact.
